WHOIS Lookup

Look up domain registration details — registrar, creation & expiry dates, nameservers, and status codes. Also supports IPv4 and IPv6 address lookups via ARIN RDAP with automatic referral to RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, or AFRINIC for non-ARIN addresses.

Find out who registered a domain or owns an IP block, when it expires, and where it's hosted. Useful for investigating suspicious domains, IP attribution during incident response, checking abuse contacts for a network, or verifying ownership during acquisitions.

Free WHOIS Domain Lookup

WHOIS is a public query protocol that retrieves registration information for internet domain names. Originally defined in RFC 3912, WHOIS databases are maintained by domain registrars and registries, providing transparency about domain ownership and administrative contacts.

What Information Does WHOIS Show?

Registrar identifies the company where the domain was registered (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare). Registration dates show when the domain was first created, last updated, and when it expires — useful for spotting domains that may lapse soon.

Nameservers indicate which DNS servers are authoritative for the domain, telling you where its DNS is hosted. Domain status codes (EPP status codes like clientTransferProhibited) reveal any restrictions on the domain, such as transfer locks or pending deletions.

Registrant information may include the organization name and country, though many owners use WHOIS privacy services to redact personal details in compliance with GDPR and ICANN regulations.
