WHOIS Lookup

Look up public domain registration details, including the registrar, dates, nameservers, status codes, and available contacts. IPv4 and IPv6 lookups use the appropriate regional RDAP registry.

Use the result to check registration dates, find a registrar contact, or confirm the public record for a domain or IP block.

About WHOIS and RDAP

WHOIS and RDAP return public registration information maintained by registries and registrars. Available fields vary by registry and may be redacted for privacy.

What Information Does WHOIS Show?

Registrar identifies the company where the domain was registered (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare). Registration dates show when the domain was first created, last updated, and when it expires, useful for spotting domains that may lapse soon.

Nameservers indicate which DNS servers are authoritative for the domain, telling you where its DNS is hosted. Domain status codes (EPP status codes like clientTransferProhibited) reveal any restrictions on the domain, such as transfer locks or pending deletions.

Registrant information may include the organization name and country, though many owners use WHOIS privacy services to redact personal details in compliance with GDPR and ICANN regulations.
