About the results
DNS translates a domain name into the records used by browsers, mail systems, and other network clients. This lookup returns the major public record types for the name you enter.
DNS record types
A Records map a domain to an IPv4 address. AAAA Records do the same for an IPv6 address.
MX Records (Mail Exchange) specify which mail servers handle email for a domain and their priority. If you're troubleshooting email delivery, checking MX records is often the first step. NS Records (Name Server) indicate which DNS servers are authoritative for a domain.
TXT Records hold arbitrary text data and are commonly used for email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), domain verification, and security policies. CNAME Records (Canonical Name) create aliases, pointing one domain name to another. SOA Records (Start of Authority) contain administrative information about the DNS zone, including the primary name server and zone serial number.
