Stack-replacement methodology
How we calculate the vendor stack ServiceAlert.ai replaces. Every number has a public-source link. Numbers change, flag anything outdated at support@servicealert.ai.

The baseline comparable stack
We build a comparable stack for a mid-market IT/SRE team of about 10 engineers that wants to cover: uptime monitoring, third-party vendor status aggregation, certificate lifecycle management, and a hosted incident communications status page.
What ServiceAlert.ai costs by comparison
Business plan is $249/month flat, unlimited users = $2,988/yr. Against the midpoint of the stack above (~$77K/yr) that is roughly a 96% reduction. Against the low end ($55K), still ~94%.
The hero figure on our homepage is $120K/yr. That is the upper-bound Fortune-500 configuration: Datadog full Synthetic + APM, Venafi enterprise, Statuspage Enterprise at $1,499/mo, and PagerDuty Enterprise. That configuration is real for large enterprises but is not what most $249/mo buyers are actually replacing. The mid-market comparable above (~$55K-$100K) is the more defensible number for a team of about 10 engineers. Both are honest; pick the one that matches your stack.
What we deliberately don't include in the comparable
- Datadog APM / tracing / RUM. We don't instrument application code. If you need APM, buy APM separately.
- EDR / endpoint security. Different problem domain.
- Brand protection and digital risk protection. We separated those features into SecurityAlert.ai, our sister product. ServiceAlert covers monitoring; SecurityAlert covers DRP, brand monitoring, and threat intelligence.
- Log aggregation and SIEM. Outside our scope.
What if your stack is different?
If you're already paying StatusGator ($72-$299/mo) for third-party status aggregation, Better Stack or UptimeRobot for uptime, and nothing for certificate lifecycle, your number is obviously lower than $55K. We don't claim ServiceAlert.ai is a better fit for everyone, just that the unified bundle is compelling for teams who are currently stitching together four or five tools or who have a "we should probably do certificate lifecycle" item that never gets funded.
We encourage you to open our interactive TCO calculator and swap in your own vendor numbers. The calculator lets you edit each line.
