Your report is added to the live spike chart and geographic heatmap immediately. When report volume spikes above the baseline threshold, the chart turns red and we automatically alert all subscribers, usually 10-30 minutes before Refract acknowledges the issue on their own status page.
Reports are rate-limited to one per service per IP per 15 minutes to prevent abuse, and we hash IP addresses with a daily-rotating salt rather than storing them in plaintext.
